The big story: Boston Robotics acquires 80% stake in Hyundai.

Boston Robotics is behind a number of stunning robots, including the quadruped dog-like Spot.

It's changed ownership several times over the past decade, with Google acquiring it in 2013 and then selling it to Japanese investment giant SoftBank in 2017.

SoftBank will still own a 20% stake which values Boston Robotics at $1.1 billion and is subject to regulatory approval.

"Boston Dynamics will greatly benefit from new capital, technology, affiliated customers and the global market of Hyundai Motor Group to enhance the marketing opportunities for its robot products," Hyundai said in a press release.
