Sarcos Robotics, a manufacturer of robots that increase human productivity and safety, says that Time Magazine has selected its Guardian XO industrial exoskeleton as one of the 100 Best Inventions of 2020.

Sarcos says his exoskeleton is "the world's first battery-powered full-body wearable industrial robot designed to increase strength and endurance."

The Guardian XO exoskeleton, among three other products designed to streamline the way we work, was selected for this prestigious annual list in the category Productivity.

An earlier hydraulically powered version of the Guardian XO exoskeleton, the XOS 2, was also named to the 2010 Best Inventions list of TIME.

Judges assessed entries based on a number of factors, including originality, efficiency, ambition and impact.

The results included a list of winners ranging from a smarter beehive to a greener toothpaste tube, to the technology capable of catalyzing a Covid-19.

The Guardian XO exoskeleton, which has been under development for more than 20 years, can safely lift up to 200 pounds for extended work sessions and is applicable to a myriad industries such as aviation, manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, oil and gas, construction, defence, and others.
